Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to evaluate clients' mental health status, which informs the development of personalized treatment plans tailored to individual needs. Offer short-term individual therapy sessions and effective crisis intervention services, addressing a wide array of issues—from anxiety and depression to interpersonal conflicts and stress management. Facilitate therapeutically-driven group sessions and educational workshops that cover various topics relevant to mental health maintenance and personal development. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including medical professionals and community organizations, to promote integrated care and expedite patient referrals when needed. Engage actively in outreach initiatives and preventive mental health efforts, such as organizing community workshops and mental health awareness campaigns. Maintain meticulous patient records while adhering to ethical guidelines and legal regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in documentation practices. Patient Population / Client Focus Our therapists will predominantly serve a diverse clientele reflective of the community in Pasadena, California. This includes individuals from various cultural backgrounds, age groups, and socioeconomic statuses, each presenting unique psychological and emotional challenges. The emphasis is on providing culturally competent care that respects and acknowledges the distinct needs of all patients. Qualifications An active state-issued license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist. A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline, underpinning your clinical knowledge and therapeutic skills. Deep familiarity with the mental health challenges experienced by hospital patients, along with an understanding of the holistic approaches required in a hospital setting. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate effective engagement with patients and collaboration with a diverse healthcare team. Proven competency in utilizing evidence-based therapeutic practices and brief therapy models specific to a counseling center environment. A track record of thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments, demonstrating the ability to manage diverse patient caseloads and prioritize tasks efficiently. Preferred Experience Experience providing teletherapy or remote counseling services, especially in crisis intervention settings. Familiarity with hospital department operations and the ability to coordinate care with various healthcare providers. Knowledge of local community resources that can support patients post-treatment.
