Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required License: Valid compact or state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Tele and ventilator experience required Epic experience required Charge nurse experience preferred Conscious sedation experience preferred Description: ICU position for 36 hours per week. Night shift from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Estimated patient ratios of 1:2. Every other weekend requirement. Floating within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity is expected. Required skills include care of ventilated patients and continuous IV sedation. Strong knowledge of infection prevention and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) is essential. Candidates must have experience management of dysrhythmias and starting and maintaining IVs. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, pharmacy, and unit secretary. Common patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, DKA, cardiac arrest, substance withdrawal, and GI bleed. Special procedures in the unit involve post-arrest hypothermia and temperature management. Candidates must be aware of a fingerprinting process that is urgent and required.
