Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night and Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role preferred License: Valid nursing license in hand at the time of submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - 22 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred - Epic experience required - Previous travel experience preferred Description: This position involves working weekdays and some weekends. Rotating holidays are required. Floating within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity is mandatory. The estimated patient ratios are 1:1. Skills required include IV start, telemetry, ventilators, Swanz, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines. Applicants must have experience with critical care and emergency medications. Care of ventilated patients, central line management, and interpretation of arterial blood gases is expected. Candidates must have experience with ECMO and management of multi-system organ dysfunction. Experience with coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), valve repair/replacement, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is preferred. Management of high-flow nasal cannula and BiPAP/CPAP is required. The role includes performing post-cardiac surgery care directly from the operating room and managing patients with unstable dysrhythmias. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses may include but are not limited to, cardiovascular issues requiring intensive care, acute respiratory distress, stroke, and renal failure. Candidates must be able to manage complex patient care and work collaboratively within a team setting.
