About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar specialty required. License: Valid state nursing license in hand at the time of submission. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. Must-Have: - 22 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred. - Epic experience required. - Previous travel experience preferred. - Skills in IV start, telemetry, ventilators, Swanz, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines are required. Description: Shifts will include weekdays and some weekends. Rotating holidays are required. Floating to units of equivalent or lower level of acuity is required. Estimated patient ratios are 1:1-2. Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period. Saturday and Sunday for day shift, Friday and Saturday for night shift. Patient diagnoses include cardiovascular conditions requiring intensive care management. The unit handles patients post-cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplants, and patients on ECMO. Additional patient conditions include renal failure, respiratory failure, and unstable dysrhythmias. Important procedures performed include blood product administration and management of arterial lines. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Daily census is approximately 28 patients with a total of 30 beds available. Special equipment used includes ECMO, ventilators, and hemodynamic monitoring systems. Travelers are required to comply with credentialing processes promptly.
