Job Description

Step into an impactful role providing vital support as a School Social Worker for elementary students in a contract position running from August 12, 2026, to November 4, 2026, with the possibility of extension. In this full-time, onsite opportunity, you’ll work with K-5th grade students, helping foster their academic, social, and emotional growth within a dynamic educational environment.

Key Qualifications:

Active Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license
Professional Educator License (PEL) required
Prior experience working within a school setting
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and external agencies

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive social work services to elementary-aged children
Assess students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs, and develop appropriate interventions
Provide individual and group counseling to support student success and well-being
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement intervention plans
Serve as an advocate for students, connecting them and their families with community resources as needed
Contribute to multidisciplinary teams, including IEP meetings and student support initiatives
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school guidelines
