Position OverviewParker Hannifin is seeking skilled and motivated CNC Lathe Machinists to join our manufacturing team in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. This position plays a critical role in producing high-quality precision components through the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CNC machining equipment.
As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will operate a variety of CNC lathes and related machining equipment to manufacture precision parts in accordance with blueprint, print, and engineering specifications. Successful candidates will possess strong technical machining skills, experience performing complete machine setups, knowledge of tooling and offsets, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD/CAM programs.
This role involves operating and maintaining CNC machines, editing programs utilizing G&M codes, selecting and setting tooling, conducting first-article and in-process inspections, monitoring machine performance, and maintaining quality and production documentation. Compensation & Schedule- Pay Rate: $38.00 per hour
- Per Diem: $166 per day ($1,162 weekly)
- Hours: 50-60 hours per week
- Location: Grantsburg, Wisconsin
- Shifts Available:
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM
- Monday through Friday
- Set up, operate, and optimize CNC lathes, CNC mills, and machining centers to manufacture precision components according to established production requirements.
- Operate and maintain CNC machines to produce parts in accordance with print specifications and customer requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, CAD/CAM programs, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Perform complete machine setups from start to finish utilizing blueprints and/or CAM programs.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling, machine offsets, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
- Perform tooling changes, offset adjustments, and equipment calibrations as required.
- Edit and modify machine programs at the machine utilizing G&M codes.
- Utilize precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and part conformity.
- Conduct first-article, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and engineering specifications.
- Monitor machine run conditions and performance throughout production runs and make adjustments as needed to maintain production efficiency and product quality.
- Troubleshoot machining processes, tooling concerns, equipment malfunctions, and production issues to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure machinery remains in proper working condition.
- Accurately maintain production records, inspection reports, quality documentation, and manufacturing data.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, operational procedures, and 5S manufacturing practices.
- Previous CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with CNC machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in CNC lathe machining.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, CAD/CAM programs, and technical documentation.
- Ability to independently perform complete machine setups from start to finish utilizing blueprints or CAM programs.
- Experience with G&M code editing and machine programming adjustments.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles and their application in manufacturing environments.
- Experience using precision measurement instruments and inspection equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training, vocational education, or machining certification preferred.
- Extensive experience operating CNC lathes.
- Experience operating CNC mills and machining centers.
- Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Haas, Okuma, or comparable CNC control systems.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls.
- Knowledge of tooling selection, tool wear management, offsets, machining parameters, speeds, and feeds.
- Proven ability to hold tight tolerances on precision-machined components.
- Experience performing quality inspections, first-piece inspections, and first-article inspections.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing environments.
- Continuous improvement and process optimization experience.

Candidates should possess the technical expertise to perform complete machine setups, troubleshoot machining and production issues, work with G&M code edits, conduct quality inspections, and consistently produce precision components that meet customer and engineering specifications.
