Annual Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

- WORK LIFE BALANCE: In addition to vacation and sick time, there are approximately 21 scheduled school closure days throughout the calendar year, including a full week off during the first week of the December break. We also provide supervision each week to support your professional growth while limiting the number of after-work hours needed. WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Data Specialist supports the school's outcome data infrastructure and reporting needs by maintaining student and operational databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and assisting staff and leadership in translating raw data into clear, actionable reports. This role combines technical database management with applied statistical analysis to support instructional decision-making, compliance reporting, and school improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Database Management
- Maintain, update, and audit testing, assessment, and outcome data in the student information systems (SIS) and other school databases to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage testing, assessment, and outcome data entry, imports/exports, and data cleaning processes across multiple platforms
- Develop and maintain organized data structures (e.g., in Airtable, Excel, or SIS platforms) for tracking attendance, assessments, discipline, enrollment, and other key metrics
- Ensure data security and confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and other applicable privacy regulations
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and collaborate with IT/vendors to resolve system issues
Reporting & Statistical Analysis
- Assist in designing, generating, and formatting reports for administrators, teachers, and external stakeholders (e.g., state/district reporting, grant compliance, board presentations)
- Support statistical analysis of student performance data, attendance trends, and program outcomes
- Create dashboards, charts, and visualizations that clearly communicate trends and findings
- Assist with data interpretation to support MTSS, program evaluation, and school improvement planning
- Prepare ad hoc reports and data pulls as requested by leadership
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with administrators, teachers, and counselors to understand data needs and deliver timely, accurate information
- Provide training or guidance to staff on data entry best practices and basic report reading
- Support annual state and federal reporting cycles as needed
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in data analysis role
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g, data analytics, statistics, information systems) or equivalent professional experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization tools
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive student information with discretion and in compliance with privacy regulations
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to present data to non-technical audiences
- Familiarity with education data reporting requirements
- Experience creating dashboards or visualizations (e.g., Excel, Google Data Studio/Looker Studio, Tableau)
- Knowledge of SPSS or other statistical analysis software (or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a K–12 school or district setting, particularly with student information systems (Veracross or other similar system)
Work Schedule
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a school setting. The Lower School is located on the 4th floor of one building and the Upper School is located on the 1st, 5th and 6th floors of another building, administrative suite in a separate location; all buildings have elevators. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the school and occasionally traveling back and forth between campuses located approximately two blocks away.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This position is available as either full-time (40 hrs/week) or part-time (20–30 hrs/week), with flexibility based on candidate availability and school needs. Schedule may include primarily school-hour availability with occasional flexibility around reporting deadlines. The role functions in an educational facility which is open eight hours a day. Administrative staff work year-round, including summer. Workloads and demands ebb and flow with seasons and situations, and it is expected that work outside of work hours may be required to manage surges and busy times of year. Evening and weekend events will occur throughout the year. In general, though, hours are Monday-Friday 8am – 4pm.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Compensation is dependent upon experience and degree obtained.
