Responsibilities

• Teaching and Mentoring: Provide clinical guidance and supervision to medical students, residents, and fellows.
• The faculty must:
  • devote sufficient time to the educational program to fulfill their supervisory and teaching responsibilities; and to demonstrate a strong interest in the education of residents, and
  • administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas.
• Research and scholarly activities: Contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge through research, clinical trials, and publications.
• Faculty scholarly expectations:
  • regularly participate in organized clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs, and conferences.
  • some members of the faculty should also demonstrate scholarship by one or more of the following: peer-reviewed funding; publication of original research or review articles in peer reviewed journals, or chapters in textbooks; publication or presentation of case reports or clinical series at local, regional, or national professional and scientific society meetings; or, participation in national committees or educational organizations.
  • faculty should encourage and support residents in scholarly activities.
• Patient care: Provide patient care at the clinic and hospital.
• Academic environment: Foster an academic environment for medical students, residents, and faculty.
• Professional development: Participate in faculty development, such as personal reflection, media discussions, and educational trainings.

Qualifications

• Current medical license to practice in the State of California
• DEA Certificate
• BLS or ACLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited medical school
• Internal Medicine Board Certified

The salary wage range that UHC reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire starts at $275,000.00 a year plus bonus. Our competitive salaries are dependent on knowledge, skills and experience. The base pay does not include other forms of compensation and/or incentives.
