Property Accountant (Affordable Housing req)

Property Accountant with experience in affordable housing to oversee the financial reporting and day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of residential properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HUD, LIHTC, and other regulatory requirements and will thrive in a mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of affordable housing properties Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Perform month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Maintain and reconcile general ledger activity for multiple entities and properties Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide explanations to management Monitor cash flow, operating reserves, and replacement reserves Prepare and assist with annual budgets and forecasts Ensure compliance with HUD, LIHTC, HDC, HPD, and other regulatory reporting requirements Assist with year-end audits and preparation of audit schedules Track tenant receivables, subsidy payments, and rental income Review and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions related to properties Work closely with property management teams on financial performance and occupancy metrics Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3+ years of property accounting experience, preferably within affordable housing or the nonprofit sector Strong knowledge of HUD regulations, LIHTC compliance, and governmental funding sources Experience with multiple properties/entities and intercompany accounting Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management software) Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
