Accounts Receivable Specialist

Southfield, MI (Hybrid) | Contract-to-Hire | $28.00 - $33.00 per Hour

LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a client in Southfield, Michigan that is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team. This is a hybrid, contract-to-hire opportunity offering competitive compensation and the potential for long-term career growth within a collaborative and professional environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounts receivable experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage customer accounts while maintaining positive client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Process and post customer payments accurately and timely
• Monitor and maintain accounts receivable aging reports
• Follow up on outstanding invoices and past-due balances
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and customer inquiries
• Reconcile customer accounts and ensure accurate account balances
• Prepare and distribute invoices, statements, and account documentation
• Collaborate with customers and internal departments to resolve payment concerns
• Assist with month-end closing activities and reporting
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to receivables transactions
• Support process improvement initiatives within the accounting department

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts receivable experience required
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and collections
• Experience with account reconciliations and cash application
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a high-volume accounting environment
• Prior experience with ERP systems
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
