Litigation Paralegal

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMid-sized Orlando law firm with a national presence is seeking a motivated, hardworking and knowledgeable litigation paralegal. Ideal candidate has 4 to 6 years of experience in civil litigation. Candidate must have an exceptional work ethic, be available to travel, and the ability to work well in a team environment. This position requires someone with a great attitude and exceptional attention to detail.Duties include performing paralegal billable activities for multiple attorneys such as:Obtain medical and other investigative records via authorizations and/or subpoenasReview medical records and prepare detailed summariesCalculate and track deadlines based on rules, judicial preferences, and/or client guidelinesAssist with preparing cases for trial including preparing witness and exhibit listsDraft responses to basic discovery, pleadings and motionsMaintain production logs and clear, concise records of documents produced by all partiesSchedule and coordinate depositions, hearings, inspections, and other case-related conferencesInteract with clients courteously and professionally with an emphasis on good client serviceWork effectively in a team-oriented environmentCandidates should have excellent communication and writing skills; understand local, state and federal rules; be able to review, understand, and follow client guidelines; have experience with both e-filing (in local and federal courts) and e-service; and be a self-starter. Must also possess advanced software skills, particularly with the MS Office Suite.
