Seeking an a shipment specialist in the Asset Receipts department that receives direction from the department supervisor as well as Distributor III’s concerning the receipt and system entry of media assets into the facility. This includes the receipt of products against GOLD system generated purchase orders as well as the manual receipts of all other products and supplies. Media assets are received from manufacturing labs, overseas clients, and other facilities. Needs to possess the enhanced ability to use prescribed technical equipment, tape decks, to identify/verify asset metadata. Includes 1”, BetaCam, BetaCam SP, Digital BetaCam, HDCAM & HDCAM SR formats. A major function of this position is to receive product into the facility with a clear understanding of department quality issues and customer service. Responsibilities Accurately receive material into facility as per department policies and procedures. Receive shipments routinely in excess of 50lbs from various carriers including Sony consolidation, Fed Ex, UPS, DHL and others. Verify materials received from manufacturing labs against packing list and GOLD (Inventory Management System) Purchase Order. Verify returned materials received from clients against packing list and GOLD data. Verify materials received from other facilities against packing list. Notify supervisor of all receiving discrepancies as discovered. Sort material as directed by Supervisor. Conduct New Unit system entry or editing of meta data in GOLD inventory management system per user manual. New film assets – Transfer to Asset Specialist. Returning film assets – Update asset record as necessary and receive. New tape assets with GOLD purchase order – Transfer to Asset Specialist. New tape assets without GOLD purchase order – Transfer to Asset Specialist. Returning tape asset – Update asset record as necessary and receive. Obtain any missing critical metadata from documentation provided with the asset and/or by putting the asset up on the respective machine deck Update the GOLD asset record mark it curated Identify/verify asset metadata via prescribed technical equipment Priority metadata requiring verification include title, eps #, production co, media classification, standard, picture resolution, aspect ratio version, asset date, asset/track level audio type & config, picture color and # tracks Other temporary duties as requested by Supervisor or Lead Distributors. Knowledge of: Extensive knowledge of inventory management systems, GOLD. Strong PC knowledge including MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word. Business literate (understands basic inner workings of a corporation) Knowledge of or background in Entertainment Industry. Enhanced knowledge of film and tape elements. Needs to possess the enhanced ability to use prescribed technical gear, tape decks, to identify/verify asset metadata Skill In: Detail oriented. Effective organizational and time management skills.
