Human Resources Manager

Role Overview The Human Resources Manager is a key partner collaborating with leaders on matters of performance, conflict, conduct, and discipline. This individual‑contributor role serves as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable federal, state, and local laws. Responsibilities Provide support, coaching, and advice to managers regarding performance management, employee discipline, policy interpretation, and termination processes. Conduct complex workplace investigations related to employee claims, prepare summary reports, conclusions, and recommendations. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and management at all levels, using de‑escalation skills to manage difficult or emotional situations. Present facts and recommendations verbally and in writing; plan, design, and implement solutions. Advise business management and leadership on employee relations issues using independent judgment and critical thinking, upholding company values and culture. Consult with management on employee performance improvement plans. Partner with leaders, senior HR leadership, and internal counsel on corrective actions, documentation, performance coaching, and other actions for team members. Make recommendations to internal legal counsel and leaders regarding employee corrective actions and performance management. Provide substantive review and editing of corrective action documentation. Partner with external legal employment counsel as needed for escalated matters. Track relevant employee data, metrics, and trends to define process improvements. Stay informed of changes in federal, state, and local legislation, proactively recommend adjustments to company policies or practices to maintain compliance. Work with leadership to coach and implement strategies that improve engagement and productivity. Utilize data to proactively address potential issues and enhance the overall employee experience. Travel as required to support market needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of experience managing and resolving complex employee relations matters in a multi‑state business environment. Minimum of 5 years in a Generalist or higher HR role. Human resources certification (SHRM/HRCI/CERP) preferred. Deep understanding of state and federal U.S. employment law, EEO regulations, workplace anti‑discrimination and accommodation laws, including TitleVII, the ADA, the FMLA, and their state equivalents. Highly skilled in workplace investigations, negotiation, conflict management, and employee relations procedures and processes. Investigations experience in a remote/hybrid work environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively with minimal oversight. Effective verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint). Proficiency in HR systems (Workday, ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, etc.). Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Human Development, Psychology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Benefits 401(k) retirement plan with employer match. Compensation Base compensation range: $85,000 – $100,000, plus opportunity for additional benefits.
