Responsibilities

• Deliver direct neonatal nursing care in a unit integrated with labor and delivery, including care for surgeons and obstetric teams during perinatal events.
• Assist with deliveries and participate in neonatal resuscitation, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring of newborns.
• Establish and manage IV access in neonates, administer medications as ordered, and support respiratory therapies (e.g., CPAP) and surfactant administration when indicated.
• Support enteral feeding, monitor intake and hydration, document progress, and manage growth parameters for neonates.
• Monitor and manage withdrawal symptoms when present; coordinate with the care team for comprehensive newborn care.
• Float to postpartum or pediatrics if needed; maintain flexibility to support unit coverage while adhering to unit standards; Cerner documentation experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Experience: 3–4 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in NICU or SCN
• NICU/SCN: Previous NICU or Level 2 SCN experience required
• Perinatal experience: Postpartum experience is desirable but not required for travelers
• Cerner: Experience preferred but not required
• Adequate ability to assist in deliveries and neonatal procedures (IV starts, CPAP, tube feeds, etc.)
• Willingness to float to postpartum or pediatrics if needed
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced neonatal unit
