The Commercial Sales Operations Manager has a key role supporting growth and scale. This role works closely with sales management and leads the inside sales team by designing, implementing, and improving the processes involved with daily sales operations. As a Sales Operations Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the sales team has the resources and tools to complete their tasks and meet business goals. This involves analyzing data and metrics from sales activities and then translating that information into more streamlined and effective processes and databases for the sales team to utilize. This position is also responsible for automating repetitive tasks for the direct sales team, freeing up their time for increased client engagement. This position reports to the Commercial Sales Director.

Sales operations focus areas

Strategy: Optimizing sales process, data analysis, forecasting, goal setting, territory planning

Technology: Adapting and implementing CRM platform, communication management, app and database management, automating tasks

Operations: Product training, vendor contracts, hiring, onboarding, managing databases

Performance: Lead management, creating compensation plans, identifying KPIs, pricing management

People and Process: Team Leadership and Commercial business practices

The duties and responsibilities of a Sales Operations Manager

·        Manage inside sales, processes, oversee related systems and procedures.

·        Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on sales data to improve sales strategy efficiency.

·        Using data to analyze customer trends.

·        Researching new technologies and tools and implementing them for the team.

·        Collaborating with various teams, such as the marketing department. 

·        Future - Managing CRM data and tools.

·        Future - Overseeing new sales team members’ onboarding and training.

Requirements

·        Proven experience in business operations, or a similar analytical role.

·        Proficiency with CRM systems, and data analytics tools.

·        BA/BS degree in business, finance, or a related field.

·        Strong analytical capabilities, project management skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
