Salary Starting Hourly $23.480 Organization Health and Hospital Systems Job Summary Under general supervision, performs a variety of clerical functions requiring discretion and independent judgment. This includes patient registration, scheduling, filing, answering calls, directing them to appropriate department, contacting patients for follow‑up, and may act as lead worker. All duties performed in a highly confidential manner. Typical Duties Provide customer service to patients, families, and significant others. Verify patient information and register patient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Assist patients with using patient portal. Distribute information to patients as directed by clinical providers. Assist patients with transportation needs and make follow‑up calls as needed. Copy and / or scan documents as needed. Answer calls and route them appropriately. Sort and distribute mail. Print and distribute department / discharge documents. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate (proof required at interview). Two (2) years of clerical experience within a healthcare or customer service setting. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of patient registration database system. Hospital registration experience. Bilingual. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of clerical and standard office practices. Skilled in use of standard office equipment. Good phone and email etiquette with strong response times. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use word processing and database software. Ability to communicate with a diverse environment with tact and courtesy. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to multi‑task and prioritize assignments. Ability to lift ten (10) pounds. Ability to sit, stand, and bend for periods of time. Ability to travel, as required. Ability to work flexible hours. Physical and Environmental Demands Works in a healthcare environment and must adhere to all hospital safety requirements, including personal protective equipment, hand washing, sanitizing, and department‑specific controls. Veteran Preference Preference is given to honorably discharged veterans with at least 6 months of continuous service. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications, identify themselves as veterans on the application, and provide one of the following at interview: DD 214, DD 215, NGB 22 with honorable discharge status or a valid state ID card or driver’s license indicating veteran status.
