Key Responsibilities of the Project Accountant

• Manage project accounting activities from project setup through closeout
• Review project costs, invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor documentation
• Track project budgets, commitments, and cost activity to ensure financial accuracy
• Process customer billings and assist with project revenue tracking
• Prepare account reconciliations and support month-end close activities
• Manage and review lien waivers , subcontractor documentation, and project compliance requirements
• Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams to resolve billing, cost, and documentation issues
• Assist with cash flow tracking, project reporting, and financial analysis
• Support audit requests and special projects as needed

Qualifications for the Project Accountant

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience required
• Construction, contractor, project-based, or infrastructure accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with lien waivers required
• Experience supporting project billing, job costing, subcontractor payments, or project financial reporting preferred
• Strong understanding of reconciliations, accruals, and general accounting principles
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Experience with ERP or project accounting systems preferred
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
