Responsibilities Diagnostic Evaluations — Perform age-appropriate hearing assessments including behavioral audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, otoacoustic emissions, and electrophysiologic measures (ABR, ASSR). Newborn Hearing Screening & Follow-Up — Conduct screenings and diagnostic evaluations for infants referred from the hospital’s newborn hearing program. Electrophysiologic & Specialized Testing — Complete diagnostic ABR/ASSR evaluations across the lifespan; support vestibular assessments as part of ENT services (training available). Interdisciplinary Collaboration — Partner with otolaryngologists, pediatric specialists, speech-language pathologists, and other clinical teams to coordinate care. Patient & Family Counseling — Provide clear, developmentally appropriate education regarding hearing status, communication strategies, and follow-up recommendations. Clinical Documentation & Compliance — Maintain accurate EMR documentation and adhere to hospital, state, and professional standards. Requirements Master’s or Doctoral degree in Audiology (MA/MS, AuD, or PhD). Current New York State Audiology License (or eligibility). ASHA CCC-A or ABA certification preferred. Experience with pediatric and adult populations strongly preferred; new graduates with strong pediatric rotations are welcome. Strong diagnostic skills and comfort working in a medical environment. Preferred Skills: Proficiency with pediatric behavioral testing techniques. Experience with electrophysiologic testing (ABR/ASSR).
