Senior Sales Engineer

As a Senior Sales Engineer at OPT, you will be responsible for driving the sales of our advanced vision product portfolio within your assigned territory. This role combines technical expertise with strategic sales acumen to meet and exceed sales targets, build a robust pipeline of complex business opportunities, and collaborate with technical teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will act as a key ambassador for OPT, promoting our cutting-edge vision products to system integrators, distributors, machine builder and end users across industries such as electronics, automotive, and logistics. Key Responsibilities New Business Development: Proactively identify, approach, and secure new customers through targeted outreach, networking, and industry engagement. Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline by leveraging prospecting, cold outreach, and participation in trade shows and industry events. Sales Cycle Leadership: Manage the end-to-end sales process—from lead generation and opportunity development to quotation, negotiation, order closure, and revenue realization. Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and strengthen long-term relationships with key accounts to drive repeat business, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities. Technical Collaboration: Work closely with OPT’s technical and engineering teams to design and propose customized, value-driven proposals that address complex customer challenges. Internal Coordination: Collaborate with sales support, marketing, and product teams to ensure competitive, timely, and customer-focused proposals. Market Intelligence: Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and insights on market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to support strategic decision-making. Qualification Education: Bachelor degree or above; major in E&E, Software, Machinery, Automation or other related majors. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or sales engineering, preferably in machine vision, industrial automation, or related high-tech industries. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a competitive market. Skills & Competencies: Strong “hunter” mentality with a proactive, results-driven approach to identifying and closing new business opportunities. Ability to analyze customer operations and articulate the value proposition of OPT’s products effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM tools for pipeline and sales reporting. Team-oriented yet capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as required. Languages: German: Native or at least B2/C1 level is required. English: Business fluent (written and spoken) is required. Mandarin: A strong advantage is a plus. Attributes: Good attitude, polite, patient, friendly at all time with the users. Knowledge: Basic understanding of machine vision or optical measurement technology is a plus.
