Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure): Professor of the Practice

Professor of the Practice – Engineering Academic & Student Affairs, College of Engineering The Engineering Academic & Student Affairs office, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for up to one full-time, non-tenure faculty position at the professor of the practice level with industry experience and teaching expertise in engineering. This position would be serving a 9‑month appointment with an anticipated employment beginning September 1, 2026, though may start earlier. The successful applicant will teach primarily at the undergraduate level and provide extensive support for the Texas A&M Engineering Academies at the Collin College location in Allen, TX, including developing and implementing improvements to instructional techniques and participating in all aspects of the first‑year faculty meetings in College Station. The successful applicant will be responsible for the organization, delivery, evaluation and assessment of the engineering courses and student outcomes associated with those courses. The engineering courses include, but may not be limited to introductory engineering; python programming; statics and dynamics; mechanics and electricity & magnetism. Successful applicants will also serve as a liaison between engineering faculty/staff and the two‑year partner institutions, recruiting students into the engineering program, and advise and mentor undergraduate students and student organizations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience as a practicing engineer with a minimum of 18 years in Industry is required. Qualifications Master’s level degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline, or an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting. Significant teaching experience at the college level in the field or a related field. Minimum of 18 years experience as a practicing engineer. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
