FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST

Overview Financial Management Analyst in the Comptroller Department (C600) at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Responsibilities Research and analyze errors from the official accounting system and error reports for non‑labor transactions from the Cost System. Support data calls from the Budget Submitting Office and FIAR audit requests. Research, modify, and post obligations into official accounting systems such as SABRS or Navy ERP. Process current‑year outgoing funding documents by keying accounting information into the shipyard Cost System. Ensure accounting transactions are recorded correctly in the official accounting system; process cancellations and rejections for the Cost System and official accounting system. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS‑09, demonstrating the following: Reconciling data between financial and managerial systems. Creating reports, diagrams, and metrics in Excel from financial reporting data. Identifying, analyzing, and resolving financial issues between systems; general knowledge of the USSGL. Presenting metrics to management and explaining issue resolution. In lieu of specialized experience, the following education may be used: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Successful completion of three full years of graduate education leading to such a degree. Successful completion of an LL.M., if related. Transcript must be submitted with the application.
