As a ServiceNow Developer, you will design, engineer, and implement enterprise‑grade ServiceNow (SNOW) capabilities that enhance operational visibility, automate critical workflows, improve data quality, and streamline processes across Core Network Services (CNS). This role delivers hands-on development support for VA’s SNOW platform, enabling the VA to modernize network operations, strengthen configuration management, accelerate change processes, and deliver secure, reliable infrastructure services. In this role, you will lead SNOW development aligned with VA enterprise standards and federal cybersecurity requirements. You will build and maintain CNS data models, strengthen CMDB accuracy, integrate SNOW with monitoring tools and network systems, develop workflow automation that reduces operational burden, and deliver dashboards that provide actionable insights for leadership. You will also support VA’s platform governance and help sustain CNS operational excellence through scalable, mature ServiceNow capabilities. Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position. This role will require you to obtain and maintain Public Trust Suitability and will require you to provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility. This investigation may review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications. What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow solutions that support CNS enterprise requirements, including ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and scoped applications.
• Perform hands-on SNOW development using JavaScript, SNOW scripting, Client Scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, platform APIs, and custom scoped app frameworks.
• Develop and maintain the CNS SNOW Data Model, including CI classes, relationships, dependencies, and full documentation sets.
• Enhance CMDB quality by aligning CI structures with Discovery, Service Mapping, and ITOM processes, remediating data gaps, and improving relationship accuracy.
• Configure, customize, and deploy CNS‑specific Incident, Change, Problem, and Configuration workflows aligned with ITIL v4 and CNS operational processes.
• Build SNOW integrations using REST, SOAP, MID Server, IntegrationHub, and related SNOW integration technologies to ingest network events, automate change requests, and improve operational response.
• Develop automation using Flow Designer, orchestration logic, and data-driven workflows to support CNS incident response, change control, and operational maturity.
• Create dashboards, KPIs, analytics, and leader-facing reporting capabilities that enhance CNS operational visibility and support decision-making.
• Deliver detailed SNOW technical documentation including configuration guides, SOPs, architecture diagrams, release notes, test results, and operational support procedures.
• Provide knowledge transfer and training sessions to ensure VA personnel can sustain, extend, and optimize delivered SNOW capabilities.
• Support enterprise change, incident, and configuration management through advanced SNOW workflow development and platform enhancements.
• Help drive CNS modernization efforts through automation, improved data governance, and enhanced ServiceNow platform reliability and scalability

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree AND 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience developing solutions on the ServiceNow platform (scripting, integrations, CMDB, workflows, ITOM, Discovery).
• Hands‑on experience with Flow Designer, MID Server, Service Mapping, and enterprise CMDB maintenance.
• Experience supporting enterprise Incident, Change, Problem, and Configuration Management workflows.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, REST/SOAP integrations, SNOW APIs, scoped application development, and ServiceNow architecture.
• Familiarity with enterprise network operations (DNS, DHCP, IPAM, routing/switching, load balancing, monitoring tools).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to support multi‑vendor, cross‑discipline engineering teams.
• Ability to support escalations or major incident needs as required.

Preferred (Not Required)

• ServiceNow Developer or Architect certifications
• ITIL v4 certification
• Experience supporting large federal agencies or enterprise infrastructure programs
• Familiarity with NIST, TIC 3.0, RMF, and other federal cybersecurity frameworks
• Experience with CMDB normalization, relationship mapping, Discovery troubleshooting, and Service Mapping integration

The likely salary range for this position is $111,155 - $150,385. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
