The Role

Within our Institutional Business, we are seeking a highly accomplished, relationship-driven Vice President or Principal to join our Institutional Capital team focused on fundraising with institutional investors in the eastern United States.

This individual will lead capital formation and client coverage efforts across US institutional investors, including public and corporate pension plans, endowments and foundations, sovereign-related entities, and other sophisticated allocators. The successful candidate will bring deep market knowledge, a demonstrable network of investable relationships, and the credibility to represent Blue Owl's diversified platform of alternative investment strategies with conviction at the highest levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital raising, new business development, and relationship management efforts across US institutional investors, with a primary focus east of the Rockies.
• Develop and execute a strategic coverage plan aligned with North American and global institutional fundraising objectives.
• Build, maintain, and deepen trusted relationships with senior decision-makers and investment staff across pension funds, endowments and foundations, sovereign-related entities, and other institutional allocators.
• Actively manage a pipeline of prospective and existing investor relationships, including disciplined CRM tracking and regular reporting to senior leadership.
• Contribute to annual fundraising targets across flagship and successor fund strategies, driving commitments through proactive origination and structured follow-through.
• Partner closely with investment teams to deliver tailored solutions, market insights, and thought leadership to clients and prospects
• Represent Blue Owl with professionalism and credibility in client meetings, industry conferences, and market events.
• Collaborate with peers across regions to support a consistent global coverage model and sharing of best practices.
• Maintain a client-first approach with a long-term orientation to relationship building, consistent with Blue Owl's culture and values.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of institutional capital raising or distribution experience for Vice President; 10-12+ years for Principal.
• Experience at an alternative asset manager, placement agent, or institutional-focused investment bank strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of raising capital from and managing relationships with US institutional investors.
• Deep understanding of the US institutional investor landscape and decision‑making dynamics.
• Strong knowledge of alternative investments, including private equity, private credit, real estate, and real assets.
• Existing relationships with senior stakeholders and investment staff across public and corporate pension plans, endowments and foundations, sovereign‑related entities, and other sophisticated allocators
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with strong executive presence and the ability to engage credibly with CIOs, trustees, and senior investment staff.
• Strategic, relationship‑oriented mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a competitive, incumbent‑led market.
• Entrepreneurial approach combined with comfort operating within a global institutional platform.
• Willingness to travel domestically as required.
• Strong cultural alignment with Blue Owl: collaborative, ethical, and focused on long‑term value creation.
• Series 7, 63 and SIE registrations required.

The base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $150,000 to $225,000. Actual salary offered will be based on the candidate’s skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
