The vision of Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division is to be the global leader in the design, development, manufacture, and service of engine fuel, lubrication, and thermal management systems and components for aerospace/defense and industrial applications. By leveraging our expertise in analysis, atomization, combustion, fluid metering, and control - coupled with enterprise excellence - we will exceed customer expectations and achieve our business objectives. SUMMARY: The Quality Supervisor supports Parker's Win Strategy by leading quality operations within the assigned value stream. This position is responsible for supervising inspection personnel, maintaining/improving quality processes, supporting production quality performance, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. The role provides day-to-day leadership for inspection and quality support activities, analyzes quality trends, supports root cause and corrective action efforts. The position also partners with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to improve product quality, process capability, and overall value stream performance. This position may also serve as a backup to the Quality Engineer function as needed. This position directly supervises inspectors and other hourly Quality Department employees assigned to the value stream. The role interacts regularly with production employees, team leaders, supervisors, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, suppliers, customers, and quality leadership. The position is expected to maintain effective communication across departments to support production flow, inspection priorities, quality issue resolution, audit readiness, and continuous improvement activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead daily quality operations within the assigned value stream to ensure product conformity, customer satisfaction, and compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop inspection personnel and other assigned Quality Department employees.
- Coordinate daily inspection activities, prioritize workload, and support production schedules while maintaining required quality standards.
- Monitor quality performance, inspection results, nonconformances, scrap, rework, customer concerns, and cost-of-quality indicators.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action activities for internal, customer, and supplier quality issues.
- Assist in determining containment actions, disposition of nonconforming material, and communication of quality concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
- Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of inspection plans, quality procedures, work instructions, control plans, and related quality documentation.
- Ensure inspection and process control documentation is accurate, current, and compliant with customer, regulatory, and Parker requirements.
- Participate in internal audits, customer audits, and external quality system audits as required. May serve as primary contact during assigned audit activities.
- Support compliance with applicable quality management system requirements, including ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, or other site-specific standards as applicable.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve quality issues, improve process capability, and support new product introductions or process changes.
- Provide quality input for product development, process improvement, production readiness, and change management activities.
- Support quality planning activities such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, first article inspection, and document control, as applicable to the business unit.
- Communicate quality requirements, inspection standards, customer expectations, and process concerns to production and value stream team members.
- Support supplier quality activities, including supplier issue communication, corrective action follow-up, and performance improvement initiatives as needed.
- Prepare and present quality reports, metrics, analysis, and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Assist with customer communication, customer visits, and supplier visits related to quality matters as required.
- Apply lean manufacturing, problem-solving, and continuous improvement tools to improve inspection effectiveness, reduce defects, and support operational excellence.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and ensure team compliance with safety and quality procedures.
- Serve as backup support for Quality Engineering responsibilities when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering or a related discipline.
- American Society for Quality certification.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, A3, 5 Why, fishbone analysis, or other structured problem-solving methods.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, first article inspection, and document control.
- Experience supporting ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, or other applicable quality management systems.
- Experience with supplier quality, customer quality, internal auditing, or external audit support.
- Experience using specialized quality systems, statistical software, or data analysis tools.
- Previous Management experience.
- Thorough knowledge of inspection, quality inspection, and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles, and concepts.
- Understanding of general business operations and how quality performance impacts safety, delivery, cost, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to assess and implement continuous improvement techniques within quality and manufacturing functions.
- Ability to use standard business software applications and specialized quality or data analysis tools.
- Ability to train, develop, coach, motivate, and provide performance feedback to staff.
- Ability to establish goals, objectives, priorities, and action plans to complete projects and support department performance.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, management, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, identify root causes, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to demonstrate Parker team member competencies and actively participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
- Strong leadership, accountability, and follow-through in supporting inspection team performance and value stream quality objectives.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to support internal and external customer requirements.
- Continuous improvement mindset with knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, corrective action, and structured problem-solving methods.
