Accountant - Senior Associate

Leading global banking and finance group is seeking an Accountant – Senior Associate to join its Finance & Tax Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with 3–7 years of related experience to broaden their expertise across financial reporting, financial analysis, financial controls, budgeting, and related accounting activities while gaining valuable exposure to bonds, derivatives, and money market instruments within a collaborative and professional banking environment. The ideal candidate will have experience gained in a bank, a public accounting firm that audits banks, or a similar financial institution. Key Responsibilities Prepare the Bank's financial statements under U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards. Prepare financial reports and analyses for Management, Head Office, Treasury, and Corporate Departments. Prepare analytical and cost accounting reports. Perform financial and internal control activities. Participate in the preparation of budgets. Participate in the development, enhancement, and testing of the Bank's systems and automated tools. Prepare regulatory reports, as required. Assist with tax-related activities, including compiling, analyzing, and preparing supporting documentation. Qualifications 3–7 years of related accounting experience. Experience gained in a bank, a public accounting firm that audits banks, or a similar financial institution. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a business-related discipline preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with financial reporting, financial analysis, and financial controls. Understanding of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards. Understanding of bonds, derivatives, and money market instruments preferred. Familiarity with asset-backed securities (ABS) and mortgage-backed securities (MBS) is a plus. Regulatory reporting experience is preferred, but not required.
