Work Environment

Your work setting will be an inviting and fully equipped rehabilitation facility where you will interact with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including orthopedic surgeons, nurses, and occupational therapists. The facilities are designed to enhance recovery, boasting modern equipment and technology that facilitate effective treatment plans. Your typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a structured environment conducive to delivering consistent patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations of patients presenting with a variety of orthopedic diagnoses, including post-operative conditions.
• Document comprehensive progress reports detailing objective measures, revised treatment goals, and patient discharge plans to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Assess and recommend appropriate medical equipment and assistive devices tailored to individual patient needs.
• Deliver educational sessions for patients and family members to enhance understanding of treatment plans and promote engaged participation in the recovery process.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans that focus on optimizing functional abilities and improving patient outcomes, utilizing evidence-based practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports-related injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will engage with a diverse patient demographic that includes both adult and geriatric populations, each with unique recovery needs. Your role will be crucial in guiding patients through rehabilitation, enhancing their mobility and strength while fostering a supportive environment throughout their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited academic program.
• An active state physical therapy license is required.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills specific to orthopedic conditions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaborative relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Capacity to develop and adjust treatment plans according to ongoing patient evaluations.

Preferred Experience

• At least 3-4 years of practical experience working as a physical therapist in an orthopedic setting, specializing in musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation.
• Proficient in using therapeutic modalities, manual therapy techniques, and functional training methodologies.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems to document patient care effectively.
