Pregnancy Loss Support Program Clinical Coordinator

For over 40 years, NCJW NY’s Pregnancy Loss Support Program (PLSP) has been working to eradicate the stigma surrounding miscarriage, stillbirth and newborn death, while also creating networks of support for our current program participants and alumni. PLSP utilizes professionally trained volunteers to provide phone counseling and to facilitate in-person and virtual support groups for parents who have experienced losses. Our volunteers have had losses themselves, so they can speak from experience to grieving parents, while continuing their own healing process by serving others. In response to increased demand for our service, we are adding this new position to grow our capacity to respond efficiently to all inquiries, with the ultimate goal of reaching more families with this vital service. Learn more at Reporting Relationships: The Clinical Coordinator will report to the Director of Community Programs. They will work with a graduate social work intern, who assists with inquiries and intakes. They will also partner with the PLSP Action & Advisory Committee, a group of volunteer leaders who offer insight, guidance, and practical support when they are able. Job Responsibilities: Program Administration: Client Inquiries, Intakes & Referrals – Respond to all inquiries within 48 hours. Schedule and conduct intake interviews. Make referrals as appropriate. Client/Counselor Matching – Based on intake information, match each client with the best available peer counselor. Support Group Scheduling – Track interest in support group series and schedule groups as needed. Counselor Training – Track interest in counselor training and schedule trainings as needed. Guidance, Oversight and Support for Volunteer Counselors: Ensure each peer counselor provides a written report after each completed counseling series; review reports and follow-up as needed. Debrief with support group facilitators during and after each support group series. Collaboration & Communication- Facilitate biweekly Pantry meetings, sharing notes, sending weekly memos, and working with volunteers to address issues during service. Engage in proactive, regular communication with counselors, including providing guidance, suggestions, and support for counselors and group leaders dealing with difficult situations. Plan and execute at least one virtual gathering annually for PLSP volunteers. Provide input on program policies and procedures. Partner with the Director of Community Programs to ensure all policies and procedures are followed. Events: Partner with the Director of Community Programs to conceive and execute innovative, meaningful events for the PLSP community and for professionals in the field of perinatal loss. Outreach and Promotion: Lead efforts to publicize and promote PLSP among potential clients and referral sources. Build social media presence. Maintain relationships with hospitals, OB/GYN practices, therapists, doulas, and community partners. Maintain and expand a comprehensive Provider Referral List. Represent and promote PLSP at conferences and other events. Develop and distribute outreach materials (flyers, newsletters, website updates). Track outreach efforts and referral sources to assess program reach and impact. Other duties as assigned by the director of Community Programs. Requirements: MSW required. LMSW and SIFI-eligible strongly preferred. Previous experience in the field of perinatal loss, or strong interest with related experience in family therapy, etc. Minimum five years of post-college professional experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Google Docs, and Sheets required. Comfort with videoconference, social media, and website platforms a plus. Bilingual skills, particularly fluency in Spanish, are a plus. Skills and Characteristics: Strong commitment to the mission of both PLSP and NCJW NY. Client-focused, strengths-based outlook and approach. Strong administrative skills; attention to detail and consistent follow-up and follow-through. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Sound judgment and ability to handle sensitive issues. Cultural competence; ability to interact comfortably with diverse stakeholders. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Flexibility to occasionally work evenings as the program requires. Work Schedule and Compensation: The PLSP Clinical Coordinator will work 12 hours per week, generally remotely and on a flexible schedule. Exact weekly hours will vary. On-site meetings at NCJW NY’s Upper West Side office will be required approximately twice a month. Occasional weeknight meetings and events (in person or virtually). Compensation will be a flat rate of $600 per week, payable on a bi-weekly basis. This part-time position includes accrued paid sick and vacation leave on a prorated basis, in accordance with company policy.
