Job Area: Managerial Position Summary The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising labor management, planning inbound and outbound activities, product slotting, and customer communication. Duties include labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower management, hiring, training, performance appraisal, and problem resolution. Under the direction of the Operations or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor ensures receiving, warehousing, and shipping of products are conducted in line with company service and cost objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities and mandate continuous improvement. Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues. Develop and enforce systems and procedures for safe, profitable operations, meeting productivity and service goals and complying with client agreements. Implement and report on cost‑saving measures; propose efficiencies. Meet client‑specified KPIs and adhere to quality system requirements. Lead teams with sound communication and motivational techniques, ensure fair and equitable supervision, and manage performance evaluation, promotions, and wage recommendations. Provide guidance on training, scheduling, space reorganization, and staffing needs. Maintain daily communication of progress or problems to management and staff. Assist in physical operations as required. Deliver results by leveraging team strengths at the right time. Motivate team members to achieve high customer satisfaction. Offer growth and development opportunities; conduct annual performance reviews. Support adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and train team members accordingly. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 3 years in logistics, distribution, or a related environment. At least 1 year of supervisory experience. Preferred: MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations Successful completion of a forklift training program. Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). RF scanner operation. Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions. Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal). Business communication proficiency. Mathematical Skills Basic to intermediate level for verifying product quantities, inventory counts, and related tasks. Other Skills Strong attention to detail and timely job execution. Excellent organizational and personnel management skills. Good written and oral communication. Strong leadership, supervision, and planning capabilities. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required. Cross‑training participation to support multiple departments. Adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment. Work in unregulated temperatures ranging from mild to moderate. Physical Demands Occasionally: Bending. Frequently: Walking and standing. Constantly: Sitting. Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 20 pounds. Reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel as required. Work Environment The work environment has low to moderate noise; exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals is rare. Salary & Benefits Base pay range: $58,320.00 – $87,480.00 annually. Compensation is determined by experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
