Dugoni School of Dentistry, invites applicants to apply for a part‑time teacher‑clinician. The role includes: Teaching pediatric dentistry at the pre‑doctoral level. Instruction in the dental auxiliary utilization (DAU) program. Community outreach activities, often in partnership with the student‑organized outreach group (SCOPE). Participation in scholarship and service as encouraged. Workload will vary quarter to quarter based on department needs and faculty availability. Responsibilities Pre‑clinical instruction. Clinical instruction. Specialty preparatory activities. Teaching in interdisciplinary courses and other departments. Minimum Qualifications Current knowledge of the AAPD Pediatric Dentistry Reference (current edition). Knowledge of manual dental school educational processes. Restorative and preventive information and technique. Education: DDS/DMD or international equivalent from an ADA‑accredited school of dentistry (preferred). Certificate or Master’s degree indicating successful completion of an ADA‑accredited specialty training program in pediatric dentistry (required). Valid CPR certification. Preferred Qualifications Board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (desirable). Desired Abilities Communicate effectively with diverse populations. Interest in professional education at local, state, regional, national, and international levels. Physical Requirements Sufficient motor function to provide oral health care to patients. Skills in palpation, percussion, auscultation, diagnostic maneuvers, basic laboratory tests, dental preparations, and diagnostic procedures. Ability to perform basic life support including CPR, transfer and position patients with disabilities, and restrain children lacking motor control. Ability to operate dental handpieces and hand instrumentation, including scalpels for surgical procedures. Hiring Range $65 per hour; factors considered include scope and responsibilities, qualifications, internal equity, market and organizational considerations.
