Recruitment Information Recruitment Number: 26-0018 This vacancy is with the Department of Transportation, Airports Division. Shift Work All applicants must be available to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Duties Summary Performs routine manual and semi‑skilled tasks and assists a building maintenance worker or a skilled building tradesperson in building maintenance and repair work relevant to the carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical trades; and performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualification Requirements Legal Authorization To Work: The State of Hawaii requires all applicants to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or otherwise eligible for unrestricted employment in the United States. Experience and Training: Two (2) years of work experience in performing a variety of building maintenance repair work or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment. Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance – Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with federal regulations, prospective employees must undergo a fingerprint‑based criminal history record check. Applicants must not have been convicted of a disqualifying offense within ten years from the date of application. The cost of the records check is the applicant’s responsibility. Paid Sick Leave: 21 days per year from the first year; no limit on accumulation. Expectant mothers may use sick leave for pre‑natal or post‑natal appointments.
