Radiology Assistant Director for Resource Coordination

Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Radiology for Resource Coordination will be responsible for ensuring that the technologists are charging the correct exam, supplies and complete charge capture for the exam. This person will work closely with finance, hospital billing, professional billing for the radiologist, radiology technologist, authorization teams, and the Director of Radiology. Yearly, new CPT codes are created. This position will be responsible for working with the Radiant Team to ensure Radiant IMG codes points to the correct CPT Code. Along with this, they will also work with Radiant Programmers to create new IMG Codes to facilitate ordering for physicians and correctly point these exams to the correct CPT Code. Ensuring that the right CPT Code is used is essential for proper billing and reimbursement. This position will also need to work with the Radiology Director and financing for proper mapping of the CDMs to ensure each department is receiving appropriate fiscal reimbursement. The position monitors the undictated list twice a month to ensure all areas have images and correct reports tied together and tracked appropriately. This Assistant Director position will also be responsible for creating Lawson numbers for new products used within the radiology department. If physicians or radiology team members need to order a new product, the Assistant Director will collaborate to get all the proper information from the vendor and create the code in Lawson. If a product is used elsewhere in the facility, it must be uploaded into the radiology areas so it can be charged out. Additionally, when vendors are not in the New York State system, this position will work on getting the new vendors in our local Lawson system and ensure that an accounts payable line is established so the vendor gets reimbursed. Many advanced modalities do image guided procedures, and this ensures that all supplies are charged and billed correctly as these products can cost upwards of several thousand dollars each. Daily, the Assistant Director position audits all IR and OR procedures to ensure the proper exam, supplies and professional charges are associated with the exam. This person needs to be familiar with multiple different modalities and know proper vascular and cross-sectional anatomy. There are also daily reports that need to be run in Epic and transferred to pivot tables. These reports are distributed to the Director of Radiology and other administrative personnel through the department. The position works the fiscal work queues for claim edits and code corrections. This person will also be responsible for creating purchase orders for large purchases and one-time special orders. For special orders, it is a different process with multiple steps within the Lawson system. They are responsible for pharmacy purchases of contrast media for all campus locations. The position also monitors ECRI daily recall notices for all Radiology Areas and alerts all areas and pulls equipment as appropriate. This position is critical not only for the Radiology Department but for the institution. Proper billing and coding ensure proper billing and reimbursement. The Radiology Department relies on this position to ensure fiscal compliance and charge routing submission for appropriate bottom line revenue distribution and forecasting. Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or higher and advanced specialized or technical training in Radiology, and ARRT and NYS License in Radiology required. 3-5 Years minimum experience also required Preferred Qualifications: Work Days: Monday-Friday Days.
