Position SummaryQualified individual will be capable of evaluating and repairing all mechanical and hydraulic machines and equipment.TasksThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Must be able to do preventative maintenance work, trouble shoot and repair problems on industrial machinery (roll-overs, lift tables, tilt stations, & paint systems)Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools.Must be personally responsible and committed to the quality of one's own work. Must be able to work above production standards. Must be capable of operating hand held cutting tools (Torches, Plasma Cutters).Must complete confined space training.Insure accuracy in maintaining production records (Example: travelers, timecards). Must be able to check parts to Quality Control Documents.Must participate in all required training programs to maintain skill levels for continuous improvement. Must successfully complete training program. Must be able to operate lift truck within the guidelines of the McLaughlin Body Powered Industrial Vehicle Program.Must have valid driver's license.Must supply own hand tools. Must be able to maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and comply with all safety rules and procedures.Must wear and maintain the required protective clothing and equipment including: safety glasses, steel toe safety shoes, and hearing protection. Additional protection may be needed like gloves or Kevlar sleeves. SkillsMust be capable of reading blue prints and their application to the production part.Must have knowledge of production processes and be able to read work process instructions. Must be able to use a tape measure, digital calipers, and a square to ensure the accuracy of work. Equipment Selection - Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the required job.Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.Demonstrates knowledge and ability required to perform welding operations and capable of passing a 3G weld test. Settings and operational knowledge, quality of welds, safety precautions, etc.The safe use of fabrication equipment including saws, drills, torch and plasma. Capable of building from a print or drawing. Physical RequirementsMust be capable of occasional horizontal lift up to 75 pounds.Must be capable of frequent horizontal lift up to 25 pounds.Must be capable of occasional floor to waist lift up to 50 pounds.Must be capable of occasional waist to crown lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Work schedule may be over 8 hours a day.Must be capable of pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds.May be required to kneel, bend, crouch, forward bend stand in order to complete job assignment.May be required to work overhead.Must be able to work during hot or cold temperatures. Summer time temperatures can reach or exceed 100 degrees.Experience and EducationHigh School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)Must have a minimum of six (6) years of proven experience in the applicable trade or must possess Journeyman certification or has completed an approved apprenticeship and/or training program.
