COMPENSATION

$28-$34 per hour

SCHEDULE

7am - 3:30pm with option for four 10 hour shifts (7am - 5:30pm)

CONTRACT TERM

1 year with high likelihood of extension or conversion to full time employee. POSITION OVERVIEW –Technical Writer- Maintenance Operations With minimal supervision, creates and maintains technical documentation to support organizational operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, review, and update user manuals, maintenance guides, PM work orders, job plans, and technical documentation within Maximo CMMS. Review OEM manuals, technical specifications, and maintenance procedures to ensure documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with current practices. Validate labor estimates, job steps, task sequencing, and maintenance procedures to ensure they accurately reflect field execution. Revise and standardize documentation to align with OEM requirements, internal standards, and documentation best practices. Create clear, consistent, and user-friendly technical content that improves the effectiveness of maintenance activities. Collaborate with maintenance technicians, supervisors, reliability engineers, and cross-functional teams to gather information and validate documentation. Support data entry, document control, configuration management, and related Maximo activities. Document technical activities and prepare detailed reports. Maintain a high level of accuracy, consistency, organization, and attention to detail across all technical documentation. Inspect, photograph, and document equipment, systems, and maintenance activities in an industrial environment while following all safety and PPE requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS

3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment. Ability to meet the physical requirements of a maintenance environment, including: Climbing ladders and stairs. Bending and twisting. Maneuvering in tight, elevated, or difficult-to-access areas. Transitioning between elevated work areas to inspect and document equipment. Experience with or familiarity with Maximo or another CMMS platform preferred. Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications. Strong technical writing and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail, particularly regarding documentation accuracy, consistency, formatting, and standardization. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF editing tools. Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance and engineering personnel and translate field knowledge into clear technical documentation.
