Senior Legal Analyst - Annuities, Variable Products

Research and apply federal and state laws, rules, and regulations related to SEC-registered insurance and annuity products Support registered products and fixed annuities through consultation on policy interpretation, claims issues, escalated complaints, and complex operational matters Assist with maintaining and updating required product disclosures, annual prospectus filings, and other SEC filings Advise business areas on new product development and initial SEC registration statements Resolve SEC staff comments and address outside counsel concerns on new products, enhancements, and disclosure changes Monitor changes in applicable law through industry groups and educational opportunities Communicate legal changes and provide practical implementation guidance Manage documentation for Fund Participation Agreements and related contracts and amendments Support responses to market conduct and regulatory examinations Perform complex legal and administrative tasks Lead or assist special projects Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience 10 years’ experience with products registered with the SEC under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and/or the Securities Act of 1933 Knowledge of financial services and annuity products Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Research and analysis skills to determine solutions for business needs Decision-making and problem-solving skills Organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities Proficiency using MS Office tools, legal research tools, and the SEC’s EDGAR website Preferred: experience with a variety of investment or insurance products, specifically variable annuity products and securities-regulated financial products Preferred: paralegal and/or legal analyst experience Preferred: proficiency using Lexis, Westlaw, or similar tools Core Competencies Expertise in SEC regulations and compliance related to insurance and annuity products, with strong capabilities in legal research, documentation management, and effective communication of legal changes. Proven ability to support product development and navigate complex regulatory environments.
