Sales Training Manager

Job Overview Johnson Brothers is a national family‑owned wine, spirits and beer distributor seeking a Sales Training Manager to manage training across all sales channels—Retail, On‑Premise and Luxury—develop sales talent, and maintain onboarding and training standards. Key Responsibilities Lead onboarding and training for Sales Consultants and managers, including product training and wine credentialing. Coordinate cross‑functional training across Sales Managers and DM’s, focusing on sales standards, execution, and activation content. Train Sales in On‑Premise and OSM divisions on presentations, account surveying, probing questions, and use of JB technology such as Power BI. Train Retail Sales on presentations, JB technology usage, and talent assessment. Manage and embed JB Learning Academy modules and supplier training for DM/SCs. Drive coaching and accountability for perfect store conditions across retail and on‑premise accounts. Inspire, develop, and retain a high‑performing team; lead succession planning and bench strength development. Monitor and optimize route‑to‑market structures, ensuring relevance with customers and suppliers. Collect, track, and compile execution and activation recaps for division and supplier submissions. Lead training content during the General Sales Meeting and coordinate schedule for crew drives. Collect and track pre‑plan execution data. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 5+ years of industry experience, including retail sales, DM experience, shopper/consumer insights, marketing, or brand/supplier management. Experience coaching and leading teams. Knowledge of beverage alcohol chain buyers (wine, spirits, or beer). Strong leadership qualities: ability to learn new programs quickly, train others, critical thinking, problem‑solving, adaptability to a fast‑paced environment, handling interruptions and changing priorities, accuracy, multi‑tasking, and working under pressure with short deadlines.
