This permanent, onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a leading brand in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-quality tooling through preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and visual evaluations.
• Read and understand tooling drawings and follow instructions accurately.
• Disassemble and assemble molds safely and efficiently.
• Clean molds and assist Maintenance Technicians as needed.
• Work to a schedule and meet deadlines promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Utilize measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
• Assist in monitoring processes to maintain adequate component inventory.
• Reduce machine downtime and maintain tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers to troubleshoot and improve tools.
• Operate Surface grinders and Bridgeports/Lathes within specified tolerances.
• Polish, bench details, and fit new details as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a tool room involving plastic injection mold repair or maintenance.
• Knowledge and understanding of mold and die components.
• Ability to read and understand tooling drawings.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Initiative and proactive behavior in the work environment.
• Ability to work more than 8 hours a day, including weekends and holidays if needed.

Preferences

• Tool making certificate in die cast or plastic injection molding.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in a tool room involving plastic injection mold repair or maintenance.
• 3 to 5 years of experience using hand-operated tool room equipment.
• SAP or other CMMS experience.
• Prototype tool making experience.
• Injection molding process experience.
• Toolmaker/Mold Maker Journeyman certification preferred.
• Trade school or college education.
• Ownership or ability to obtain basic hand tools required for job responsibilities.
