Security Support Specialist

Summary

The Security Support Specialist will support the NASA PSO Physical Security Specialist and Information/Industrial Security Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Provide COMSEC support.

• Maintain accurate records of all COMSEC transactions.

• Provide for the destruction of COMSEC material in accordance with applicable regulations and directives.

• Conduct semi-annual inventories and Hand Receipt Holder inspections.

• Conduct audits of all material in the COMSEC account as directed by the Central Office of Record (COR)

• Promptly forward all account changes to the Central Office of Record (COR)

• Advise and train COMSEC Hand Receipt Holders on policies and procedures.

• Provide technical assistance by configuring, loading, installing, and troubleshooting COMSEC equipment.

• Support COMSEC voice and Secure Tele-conferencing Equipment (STE) or updated versions

• Initiate investigations concerning possible or actual violations and reporting to the Central Office of Record (COR)

• Interface with internal/external customers to identify COMSEC requirements and provide COMSEC solutions.

• Support collateral, SCI, and/or Special Access Programs (SAP) as required by the government.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience with information security, industrial security, or communications security.

• Possession of a High School Diploma, AA degree is preferred. Equivalent education/experience is applicable.

• May be required to possess Security Fundamentals Professional and Special Program Security Certification and Industrial Security Oversight Professional.

• Completion of required COMSEC training.
