Description: This is a Reduced Non-Billable Orientation job. Candidates will require a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. Epic experience is mandatory. Certifications required include BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate, while ACLS is preferred. The position includes responsibilities for labor and preterm labor cases. The unit has 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Nurses will circulate, assist in OB-GYN procedures, and manage post-op and pre-op care. Low risk antepartum and low risk labor delivery are part of the expected duties. The nurse will handle special procedures such as blood and blood products administration, cardioversion, and defibrillation. Experience with drains, epidemic pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vac, heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate administration is required. The nurse will attend all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries, and manage GYN surgeries. Responsibilities also include couplet care, low risk antepartum, and transition nursery support. The staffing ratio will be between 1:1 and 1:3. Floating to post-partum and NICU based on skill set may be required. References covering one year of experience are needed during the compliance process.
