Vice President of Product Development

Vice President of Product Development
Our client, a growing, dermatologist-developed skincare brand, is seeking a Vice President of Product Development to lead product strategy, innovation and commercialization. This senior leader will execute an established pipeline while shaping future innovation, delivering differentiated, high-performing products at an accessible price point.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the multi-year innovation roadmap and lead development from concept through launch.
- Preserve and strengthen the brand's product philosophy, formulation standards and competitive differentiation.
- Oversee formula development, ingredient selection, claims substantiation, clinical testing, packaging and commercialization.
- Deliver launches against quality, timing, cost and margin objectives; manage development budgets and risks.
- Lead Product Development and Quality/Regulatory teams, embedding safety and compliance throughout development.
- Partner with Marketing, Operations, executive leadership and external development partners.
- Build strong relationships with contract manufacturers, laboratories and ingredient and packaging suppliers.
Qualifications
- Significant leadership experience in skincare product development, ideally across high-growth and established beauty environments.
- Deep knowledge of formulation, ingredients, claims, clinical testing, packaging and quality/regulatory requirements.
- Proven success bringing differentiated skincare products from concept through launch and scale.
- Experience building innovation capabilities and leading senior technical teams.
- Strong industry relationships, business judgment and cross-functional communication skills.
- Strategic and hands-on leadership style, with the ability to solve problems and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
