Position Ballard Spahr LLP seeks to hire a First Year Associate (JD 2026) interested in agency and real estate finance law to join our Housing Finance practice group. The role is available in Baltimore, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, or Washington D.C. Overview Our long‑standing national Housing Finance practice has closed transactions in all 50 states, handling originating and servicing loans. Ballard gives significant responsibility to young Associates, with substantial client contact and a core emphasis on teamwork. Associates are encouraged to participate in marketing and business development, interacting with clients and their industries at conferences and other settings. Responsibilities Assist with agency and real estate finance transactions, including origination, servicing, and related legal matters. Provide substantive support and drafting for loan documentation. Engage in client work and develop relationships with industry stakeholders. Participate in business development activities such as conferences and marketing events. Qualifications JD candidate graduating in 2026 or expected to graduate by December 2026. Strong academic credentials. Excellent writing and communication skills. Demonstrated interest in finance law.
