Technician - Level 1

Position Overview Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Technician 1 to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and ensure safe, efficient operation. The role supports a fleet of Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and specialty equipment such as large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil & gas equipment. Responsibilities Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and electrical systems. Use appropriate tools and equipment to perform service tasks. Adapt to changing work priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training preferred. 1–3 years of technician experience with diesel or heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines (generators, pumps, HVAC, oil & gas). Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting fundamentals. Ability to work independently and as part of a safety‑focused team. Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location. Related experience includes shop mechanic, service manager, hydraulic technician, ASE certified mechanic, and similar roles. Physical Requirements The role involves bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.
