Date: Jul 10, 2026 Location: AUSTIN, TX The Texas Civil Commitment Office (TCCO) is a small state agency with a critical public safety mission — to provide intensive supervision and treatment to civilly committed sexually violent predators. TCCO is administratively attached to the Health and Human Services Commission. Position Title Functional Title: Management Support Specialist Job Title: Program Specialist II Compensation & Work Details Salary Group: TEXAS-B-18 Salary Range: $3,793.41 - $5,921.25 per month Shift: Day Full Time: Full time FLSA Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-exempt Telework: Not eligible Travel: Up to 25% Job Description The Management Support Specialist reports directly to the Deputy Director of the Texas Civil Commitment Office (TCCO) and provides complex administrative support to the operations leadership team. The role includes coordinating assignments with executive offices, developing administrative projects, and maintaining efficient and accurate office operations. Essential Job Functions Provide administrative support as assigned by the TCCO Deputy Director. Prepare and proof confidential materials, correspondence, memos, and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel. Manage incoming mail and telephone calls, analyze and take appropriate action. Coordinate meetings and conference calls, prepare handouts and necessary materials. Update working documents and processes; assist in compiling weekly, monthly and quarterly reports. Compile and enter data into agency tools, run reports using advanced Excel functions. Conduct research on agency programs and related state policies; prepare findings reports. Draft responses, develop letters, memos, forms, spreadsheets and templates. Provide information to agency staff, other state agencies and the public regarding TCCO procedures. Assist in compiling records for Public Information Act requests. Serve as backup for other administrative and operational staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of accepted business practices and procedures. Knowledge of agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Proficiency with standard office equipment and software (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint). Advanced Excel skills: compiling data, running reports, creating formulas and conditional formatting. Attention to detail and strong self-editing skills. Writing skills: producing written reports and tailoring content for diverse audiences. Time management and organization skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects. Problem‑solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve high‑level administrative issues. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Required Credentials Valid Texas Driver's license. High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred. Three or more years of advanced administrative office support experience (college education can be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis). Work Location & Conditions Workplace: 4616 W Howard Ln, Austin, TX (TCCO headquarters). The position requires on‑site work and is not a hybrid or remote position.
