Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor new and current employees within your team
• Oversee departmental staffing to ensure operational needs are met
• Maintain the fabrication department in a clean, organized, and professional condition by ensuring housekeeping standards are completed daily
• Organize and oversee daily fabrication operations to ensure an efficient, productive, and well-maintained department

• Minimize production downtime by proactively identifying and resolving material shortages, equipment issues, workflow bottlenecks, and scheduling conflicts
• Ensure fabrication work meets company quality standards by monitoring workmanship, verifying specifications, and addressing quality concerns promptly
• Coordinate workflow between fabrication, machining, pre-production, and downstream departments to maintain a continuous and efficient production flow
• Monitor production schedules and adjust priorities as needed to meet customer commitments and manufacturing deadlines 

• Promote efficient use of fabrication materials by minimizing waste and ensuring company resources are used responsibly
• Foster a culture of craftsmanship by encouraging team members to take pride in their work, materials, and finished products
• Maintain a high standard of quality by minimizing defects, rework, and production errors
• Develop and maintain a proactive preventive maintenance program to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Weld test required to demonstrate TIG welding proficiency and skill
• 10+ years of stainless-steel fabrication skills, including layout, cutting, grinding, forming, fitting, TIG, MIG, and Laser welding
• 10+ years of supervisory experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent – Trade skills are a plus 
• Basic mechanic and math skills
• Ability to read a tape measure and use a protractor
• Must be able to read and interpret design drawing prints
• Able to properly & safely rig large components, and operate a forklift
• Willingness to work overtime or occasional weekends as requested to meet deadlines and customer expectations
• Must possess a strong work ethic, proven ability to follow direction, and meet expectations
• Strong attention to detail, desire to solve problems, and drive to resolve technical issues
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate computer use
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly
• Valid driver’s license
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check
