2026-2027 CustodianFollow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations.Job QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED preferredAbility to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions for cleaning, maintenance and safety proceduresRequired ExperienceA minimum of 90 days (or a period of time as determined by the custodian supervisor) as an LPISD Substitute custodian preferred or Experience in a custodial work environment preferredMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used: Twenty-inch (20") rotos, automatic floor machines, carpet extractors, commercial vacuums, wet/dry vacuums, 24-and32-ounce wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment and tools, products and supplies.Posture: Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reachingLifting: Heavy lifting required up to forty-five (45) pounds unassisted frequentlyEnvironment: Work is both outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders required; may work aloneMental Demands: Reading, writing, and understanding written and verbal instructionsOther InformationThe district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.Assignment Days 240Pay Grade 1Custodial Shifts:Elementary and Junior High: 6:30am-3:00pm 10:00am-6:30pm 1:00pm-9:30pm High School: 6:00am-2:30pm 1:30pm-10:00pm Shift assignments are assigned upon hire and based on needs of campus/district.
