Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Cherryville, NC

Deliver high-quality patient care on a busy 32-bed Med/Surg and Telemetry unit at a respected medical facility. This contract opportunity is ideal for registered nurses with strong Med/Tele backgrounds eager to support adult populations with a variety of medical and surgical needs, including joint replacements, abdominal surgeries, amputations, and more.


Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM-7:00 PM or 6:45 PM-7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend
• No on-call required
• Holiday coverage: Expect to work 75% of major holidays
• Approved time off: Up to 6 days (excluding holidays), with option to extend contract if more time is needed

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum of 18 months' experience as a Med/Tele RN
• Strong proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and management of non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone)
• Experience with wound care, drains, NG tubes, PIV and central lines
• Competence with Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Open to first-time travelers

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care to diverse adult populations
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including CNAs, HUCs, RT, IV/VAT, and 24/7 hospitalist/intensivist coverage
• Safely manage patient assignments with ratified nurse:patient ratios (days 1:4-6; nights 1:5-6)
• Float as needed within the regional hospital system in accordance with skillset
