: Job Details Job Title: Student Engagement and Communications Coordinator FLSA: Non-exempt Position Type: Full time Reports To: Program Administrator Student Engagement and Communications Location: Denver, CO Pay Range: $21.00 - 23.00/hour Position Description The American Indian College Fund (College Fund) strives to positively impact the lives of American Indians by supporting their higher education and career objectives. College Fund team members believe education is the answer and collectively we raise funds, provide scholarships, and holistically support students in achieving their goals. Programming, research, and enhancing the capacities of tribal colleges and universities are also integral elements of our mission. The Engagement & Communications Coordinator reports to the Program Administrator of Engagement & Communications and supports outreach and communication strategies for Student Success Services (SSS) initiatives - including the promotion of Native college-going culture, college prep, scholarship recruitment, student success, coaching, tribal colleges & universities, Native organization partnerships and career readiness. This position will effectively manage and create content for a variety of communication channels, including web pages, social media, newsletters, text, e-mail, videos, publications, and conference presentations. In addition, this position will assist in planning and executing in-person and online events and promote engagement to build and strengthen relationships with students, tribal colleges, Native serving scholarship providers, and other external partners. Essential Job Functions

• Coordinate Communication Needs and Strategies
  • Assist Program Administrator of Engagement & Communications with development and implementation of SSS communication and outreach initiatives
  • Coordinate regular communication across all SSS staff and programs
  • Curate and deploy a diverse library of communication strategies and resources
  • Help collect student stories and examples to achieve student success and inter-departmental goals

• Implement External Communication Strategies
  • Support organization-wide initiatives to coordinate and deliver strategic online events and programs that support student success and TCU awareness.
  • Serve as project manager for social media, text messaging, email campaigns, chatbots, online presentations and other marketing and communication initiatives
  • Assist in data collection, survey development, measurement and analysis of SSS communications strategies against department and organization objectives

• Implement Internal Communication Strategies
  • Support a routine communication plan that shares relevant information across the College Fund, including but not limited to, student stories, SSS activities, annual and donor reports, and other relevant information
  • Actively participate in other Student Success Services and College Fund activities as needed

• Example of projects this position would support:
  • Developing promotional graphics and flyers for SSS online/virtual events, scholarship recruitment, and program/resource promotions (5-10 online events are hosted each semester with the student success team and external partners)
  • Creating content for - and scheduling - social media posts, emails and texts for students, institutions and supporting audiences
  • Supporting overall College Fund projects with overlapping goals like student success webinars, Voting/advocacy events, tribal college fairs, career expert panels, or donor focused events that engage students or key partners.

Education/Professional Experience Required Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree
• 1-3 yrs. work experience and/or post graduate work in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with non-profits or education/higher education
• Experience working with Native American or underserved communities
  • Education or experience in the areas of communication, marketing, public relations, journalism, writing, website administration and design
  • Knowledge or skills in AP style, online advertising, SEO, analytic analysis, graphic design, photography, videography, or video editing
  • Experience leading communication strategies
  • Experience working in a college or university student services area
  • Experience presenting for small and large group
  • Experience with WordPress or other website content management systems

Work Environment and Physical Activities:

• Frequent keyboarding
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Occasional standing and walking required
