Electrician II, CF

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Building Trades or the Correctional Plant Manager, the Electrician II is responsible for repair and maintenance of the institutional electrical system, equipment, auxiliary systems, and electrified fence. Plans, lays out, directs and assists with work of assembling, installing, and repairing electric circuits, motors, heaters, generators, transformers, switchboards, and other electrical apparatus, as well as electrified fence and related components. Maintains order and enforces the safety rules and regulations, supervises the conduct of incarcerated people, prevents escapes and injury to themselves, others, or to state property. Maintains security of working areas and work materials, inspects premises and searches incarcerated people for contraband such as weapons or illegal drugs. Incarcerated people will be always supervised by staff, including movement proceeding to and leaving work areas.


Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receive a three (3) percent reduction in pay in exchange for five (5) hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

The California State Prison - Los Angeles County (LAC) is in Lancaster, CA (Antelope Valley) - home to our State's Poppy Flower. LAC is approximately forty-five (45) minutes North of Valencia, CA, which is home to Six Flags Magic Mountain and is approximately seventy-five (75) miles North from Downtown Los Angeles/ Hollywood.
