The Release of Information Specialist is responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for Ciox, Elara's outsourced release of information ("ROI") service provider. In this role, the Release of Information Specialist will receive and date stamp paper and electronic requests, send them to Ciox, and track the status of ROI requests in Ciox's HealthSource system. Additionally, the Release of Information Specialist will ensure Elara's ROI workflow process is followed based on request type and interface with Compliance, HR, Legal, and the field as needed.

What is Required?

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 1 year of experience in medical records, quality, regulatory, or compliance department
• Basic clerical and customer service experience are also required
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrates the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial, clinical, and operational information
• Proven familiarity with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards of the health care system, including HIPAA privacy and release of information regulations
• Reliable transportation to perform job tasks

You will report to the Senior Vice President of Compliance.
