Senior Addiction Counselor

Per Diem Position In Intensive Adolescent Substance Abuse Program

This is a per diem position in the intensive adolescent substance abuse program at Saint Vincent's Hospital, Harrison, NY. Under the direction of program leadership, the adolescent therapist utilizes evidenced-based models to provide group and individual therapy for adolescents in need of short-term intensive substance abuse and psychiatric services. Tasks also include conducting comprehensive intake evaluations, family psychoeducation and counseling, person and family centered treatment planning, risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention, as well as active outreach and engagement. There is also a strong collaboration with program psychiatrists, coordination of care with other service providers, and completion of required documentation in a timely manner into an electronic health record.

One year of prior clinical experience in a mental health setting is preferred. Candidate will have experience with adolescents doing individual, group and family work in an outpatient behavioral health setting. Experience with treating high risk patients, managing crises and possessing strong diagnostic skills is preferred.

LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or LMHC-LP required.

Salary: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 -- 20 per week
