Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Program Director, and Department Director, Clinician is responsible for providing evidence-based social-emotional and mental health services to students within the San Ysidro School District, and their families. This position will include on-site services and may include frequent travel between school sites throughout the week. Other responsibilities include working closely on a day-to-day basis with teachers, administrators, nurses, counselors, and caregivers to create a school environment which results in improved behavior and academic achievement for all students. Services will be in keeping with the agency goals, objectives, mission, and style provided within a team framework. Duties Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and consultation on school campuses, in keeping with SYSD and school policy. Maintain accurate and timely electronic case records, including data entry, assessments, treatment notes, and service documentation, in accordance with agency, program and school district requirements. Utilize the SYSD-approved EHR system, including the Care Solace platform to complete and maintain required documentation. Develop expertise on CYBHI billing procedures and provide training and guidance to staff. Expected to meet required productivity and billable hour expectations. Utilize evidence-based strategies to provide social emotional learning through developing social skills and conflict resolution. Conduct intakes, assessments, and treatment plans with clients. Conduct assessments with students and their families, as indicated by referrals. Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy, as well as case management, and collateral services, as indicated by assessments. Provide therapeutic, case management, and crisis intervention services to clients and their families. Process program referrals from designated school site. Travel between multiple school sites may be required. Conduct training for program staff and caregivers. Communicate with school personnel regarding referrals, waitlist times, and students’ participation. Participate in team meetings, training, individual supervision, and clinical group supervision. Participate in agency required trainings, staff meetings, and activities. Participate in school and community-based meetings as requested or required As other duties assigned. Requirements Master’s degree in psychology or related field. Must be registered with the California BBS as an AMFT. APCC, ACSW or LMFT, LMSW or LPCC. Minimum 1-year of experience working with children and adolescents; experience should preferably have been in a community based or neighborhood service organization. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Must adhere to agency client confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with a diverse population, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients Must be able to take initiative, set goals, and prioritize. Must be organized and computer literate. Conditions of Employment Employment may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of certain background clearances which may include a Department of Justice criminal background check requiring my fingerprints (Live Scan), screening through the National Sex Offender Public Website, drug test, tuberculosis (TB) test, and such additional clearances as may be required under the program. Candidate is required to have reliable transportation; therefore, the candidate must successfully complete a motor history check. Candidate must also possess and maintain a current valid California driver’s license and valid auto insurance policy. (Approximately 10% of the time.) Physical demands Mentally and emotionally: Ability to work under deadlines, various projects and dealing with clients in crisis and difficult situations. Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift. Moves throughout the building. Moves, raises, or lowers (includes upward pulling) an object or equipment up to 50 lbs. Transports an object, from 20 to 50 lbs. across the facility, for various needs. Ability to exert force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force. Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when ascending, descending, traversing. Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with objects or office machinery. Communicating: Expressing or exchanging ideas.
